The East End Light is a testament to the dangers of the water off the eastern tip of Grand Cayman for shipping. Following the enactment of a law in 1906, a lighthouse was constructed here to aid the navigation of vessels using the port of East End. During the Second World War, the East End Light was used as a Home Guard watch station. Today, the light continues to operate, but the surrounding area has been developed for visitors by the National Trust.
